Florabotanica

Tired of the vintage rustic theme? Yeah, us too. Move on to a new page with a florabotanica theme: think overflowing, lush greenery and florals.

Inspired by the new Balenciaga perfume and the floral themes on the runway, the florabotanica theme is perfect for the romantic bride who always dreamed of having her wedding in a garden.

Stay clear of overusing succulents- this is hot right now but will be passé by the time your big day comes. Instead, choose rich greenery such as wreaths and garlands.

Think outside the box: use seed packets as escort cards, display a patterned cake, or even don a floral crown.

Loving this theme? Check out local venue Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, or explore other amazing options covered here: http://sweetfaceevents.blogspot.com/2014/04/wedding-season-is-upon-us-and-we.html

Billowing Bouquets?

Ok, a huge trend that I'm seeing everywhere right now, is the over sized bouquet. Now, I don't really know what to think about this one. Is it considered stylish to carry around something that probably weighs at least five pounds and takes the shine away from your beauty and your dress. On the other hand, having a bouquet that is over the top, showcases your overall unique style that can be seen through a gorgeous arrangement. Also, if you're not planning on spending a ton on floral centerpieces but still want to have flowers incorporated, it's a good way to have a beautiful bouquet. I found some pictures of some larger-than-normal bouquets via Loverly. Let us know what you think!

I do have a take away from this trend and post. I just don't know if it's me. In my opinion, and having been a bride, I don't want anything to take away from my dress or overall look on that day. I also don't want to carry around a massive bouquet . But with that little rant, I must say, that the gorgeousness that comes from beautiful flowers is just amazing. A wedding isn't complete without a bud or two. A bride's bouquet expresses the bride's creativity and sense of style. If you're going for over the top, then this bouquet style is meant for you! These photos are also so beautiful! Is it obvious how much I love flowers? LoL!

Flower, girl!

Hi all!
So I just wanted to briefly talk about and show some of my favorite flowers. These bouquets can be used for centerpieces or bridal bouquets, if done right! I have been loving peonies all summer and am craving to use some in my latest flower arranging, but too bad they are completely out of season! I love the bright pink peonies for centerpieces because the buds are so big and with the color of fuschia it is sure to set a fun and flirty tone at your next event or wedding! Or even just using the classic white flowers. You can never go wrong!
I've been trying to find flowers that will fit the taste of every woman so I hope I am successful is showing that!
Enjoy my latest inspiration boards everyone!

Pink-y Swear!

I have an obsession with the color pink. I've always dreamed of a pink wedding.. not everything pink but you know pink, white, and navy blue. I love it all! I've been looking at pink weddings all day and I love MOST of what I've seen so far hehe...
Pink centerpieces are what I'm focusing on today. It's been done so many ways but there are ways to make them your own. I am so in love with flowers with big blooms like peonies, hydrangeas, and lilies. I've even seen pomanders of bright pink and red carnations (and I hate carnations) and it looked amazing! Yeah, I know what you're thinking... um carnations? But when they're group together tightly they look so good! Hang them on shepherd's hooks aligned on the aisle and your wedding looks divine!
pink, pink, pink! It's always on my mind. I find that so many different every day things inspire me. Working in Georgetown, everything around me is inspiration. A girls pink strapless dress, someone's gold ballet flats, or the unique storefronts along M street. It's all inspiration, you just have to pay attention!

I hope you've enjoyed these pictures like I've enjoyed looking for them! I Pink-y Swear I'll bring you more....

Happy Wednesday!

xoxo
