Out West

DC has been pretty depressing lately with all the snow and cold weather...we are dreaming of an escape to somewhere warm, and it might not be where you think! If you're looking for a unique destination wedding location, consider options beyond beaches.

The West, with all its natural wonders and warm weather is the perfect place, especially if you're looking for nature to handle most of the scenery for you.

Copper craze

Copper has been blowing up our Pinterest feed as of late, and there's a good reason. It's a beautiful and bold metallic hue and ties in perfectly with other autumnal trends like pumpkin spice lattes, comfy off-white sweaters, and auburn leaves.

Copper is a lovely alternative to rose gold for fall weddings, and lends itself perfectly to sequins.

Cakes are a wonderful way to contrast copper's brassy boldness against simple elegant white.

Consider copper in your tablescape as well. Copper flatware, drinkware, and glassware are all perfect touches to a fall wedding. For a signature cocktail, try a moscow mule with a spritz of apple cider.

Neon Twist

Are you a modern bride looking for a spunky, bright wedding theme? We have one word for you: neon.

This trend is so much more than 80s blast from the past. It is modern and bold and looks best when paired with geometric designs.

The best part about neon is that while it incorporates many electric colors (hot pink, bright yellow, vibrant orange, even purple!) you can choose one color as your "base" and have it as the dominate shade throughout your decor. The bouquet below has a pink base, with zests of yellow and green.

Bright neon isn't your thing? Consider a toned-down, preppy version à la Lilly Pulitzer. You still get the bright colors without the bold modernity.

Bright, fresh colors are the best way to warm up a fall or winter wedding!

Florabotanica

Tired of the vintage rustic theme? Yeah, us too. Move on to a new page with a florabotanica theme: think overflowing, lush greenery and florals.

Inspired by the new Balenciaga perfume and the floral themes on the runway, the florabotanica theme is perfect for the romantic bride who always dreamed of having her wedding in a garden.

Stay clear of overusing succulents- this is hot right now but will be passé by the time your big day comes. Instead, choose rich greenery such as wreaths and garlands.

Think outside the box: use seed packets as escort cards, display a patterned cake, or even don a floral crown.

Loving this theme? Check out local venue Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, or explore other amazing options covered here: http://sweetfaceevents.blogspot.com/2014/04/wedding-season-is-upon-us-and-we.html

Boho + Chic = Perfection

Another wedding style that I love to find pictures of is the perfect mix of bohemian and tres chic! Boho chic is a great combination of class and a free spirit. It's the feathers, relaxed/flowy wedding gowns, lots of candles. It's a gorgeous mix of perfection!
The mix of pictures I put together on our latest board are just a few of my favorites. Especially using the TOMS as wedding shoes. I bought a pair of the black sparkly ones to wear at the weddings we work at, but I love the pink, silver, and gold sparkly ones too! I love the concept behind it.. I can go on and on and I know we've blogged about them before :P

I think the idea behind a boho chic wedding is to be as green as possible and use a lot of natural products. Mason jars are a staple at boho themed weddings as well as candlesticks and lots of flowers! It's all beautiful and definitely one of my favorite kind of weddings. I hope you like the board I created and feel free to comment!

Paris, J'adore!

One of my dream places to visit is Paris. I've always been mesmerized by the fashion, people, and culture. From Coco Chanel to Christian Louboutin, it's all so inspiring. I've never actually been to the city, but it's on my Bucket List! I know I'll make it to the city of love one day, no matter how long it takes!
So on to my next blog. All things French. When I took the language in high school and college, I never really cared to understand a deeper meaning of the French people. But now I can't help but love everything francais. The images of riding through the French countryside with a baguette in the basket makes me grin from ear to ear, so I thought I'd blog about it. I pulled some of my favorite French images and wanted to make an inspiration board out of it. Maybe you're interested in having a french themed wedding one day or maybe you love France just as much as I do and want to see what a wedding would look like.

I hope this inspiration board helped in making you fall in love with Paris...  I can't wait to travel this this city one day, and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later. Have any experience from a trip to Paris that you'd like to share? Ever been to a French themed wedding? Comment now!

More blogs to come...
