Washington Bridal Showcase

Ok we did it! We were one of the booths featured at the Washington Bridal Showcase on January 23rd... And what an experience that was! We met and spoke with hundreds of brides (AND grooms) and we loved every minute of it. After the first hour I really thought my voice wouldn't make it throughout the day. But I powered through it and even though I came out with a bit of a "man voice" it was all worth it!
One important thing that saved us was that we brought a cart to wheel everything to and from the booth! At the end of the day, a woman saw my wheeling a bunch of stuff to the car and she said, "Oh! I should've brought MY radio flyer!" It was so funny, but it was definitely a lifesaver. It beat making many trips to the car, so it was a great idea to bring it.
It was such a wonderful thing to get to meet all these other wedding professionals and meet some really great brides!

It was such a great experience, and I can't wait to do it again, hopefully soon!

Here are some great pictures of our booth and us in action... Enjoy!

Spotlight Vendor - Photographer

Wow it has definitely been awhile since I've written but that is all going to change as of now! I'm getting back into my new schedule which is the reason I have been m.i.a. but sweetface is back folks!
This week I would like to introduce an amazing photographer based in Toronto, Ontario. His name is Joee Wong and is not only a wonderfully creative photographer but having him photograph your special day will just add that special touch! He is near and dear to my heart because he has photographed my sister, Sarena's wedding in Leesburg, Virginia, and he photographed my cousin Vanessa's wedding in Jamaica! Pictures from both weddings were so amazing that it lead me to tears. I remember my sister's wedding like it was yesterday and seeing his pictures just keep reminding me of her special day.
Definitely take a moment to check out his blog and see his slideshow. Take a look at his amazing talent and creative eye! The pictures are amazing!
Here are a few of my favorite pictures. Enjoy!

Thanks for letting me write about you this week Joee!

Venue Spotlight

The Gaylord National Hotel & Resort

This 2,000 room hotel just opened at National Harbor, Maryland in November and it is one grand hotel & resort. Walking into the lobby alone the chandeliers were incredible down to the floral displays on the tabletops. They used different heights of vases with water filled to the top and orchids floating. It is a very classy hotel that can meet the needs of all types of people. As you walk through the lobby you walk into the atrium which has an 18 story glass ceiling. It is just beautiful.
I took the liberty of giving myself a tour of the hotel and its grounds and took a few pictures during my visit! Lucky for me the doors to the Woodrow Wilson Ballroom was open and I took a few snapshots as well as the Cherry Blossom Ballroom which is a great little room that you can hold cocktails in! There is a club, Pose, on the top floor that is only open to hotel guests and it is supposed to be very high class.
The hotel & resort is located just across the Potomac River and is easily accessible  via water taxi or highway. It has gorgeous views of the harbor especially during sunset. I've noticed that the hotel is offering some amazing deals, assuming because it is a new hotel and they're still trying to pass on the message of its opening. At National Harbor there are many delicious restaurants and most are open late for the nightlife crowd.
